While I've never had a professional conversation inside a workplace, I was surprised by the percentages. It was interesting to hear that your body language is more important than what you're actually saying.

The percentages shocked me. I was very surprised that what you actually say is only 8% of how people interpret the message. I would have guessed that body language was a larger part of the message than what you said but I didn't realize just how important intonation is.

It's interesting that the way most people interpret your message is based on mostly your tone and facial expressions and not what you're actually saying.

I was very shocked about the 8% fact about how they barley listen to the actually words we say. I do understand that the most is for facial expressions and body language because its something that's very noticeable and used a lot. Also the fact that the tone of voice has a relatively high percentage is understandable because just changing your tone can change the hole meaning of the conversation.

I was shocked that only 8% of interpreting somebodies message is their words. Most of how you interpret somebodies message is their facial expression and their body language. Another surprising thing is the persons tone of voice is 37% of how we interpret somebody.

I wont listen to people if they sound boring or don't make sense so for me it would make more sense if those percentages were higher. I didn't know so much was based on body language.

I do agree with the section on how individuals interpret what is being said. If your body language is tired and and facial expressions look angry someone can definitely tell that you're mad or sad. If your tone is loud or angry most likely people will assume that you're in a bad mood or something is going on.

I agree on this article. This article states that body language is very essential to the work industry. I didn't ever realize that body language is more used than actually speaking. I was amazed seeing only 8% on words someone says.

I agree with the article because people mostly pay attention to body language and tone of voice; rather than the actual words being said. I know that when someone is telling me something I mostly focus on their tone of voice because it tells me how I should react to what they're saying. I think tone of voice and body language are more important than actual words being said because someone could be saying something nice, but their facial expressions and tone could mean something totally different.

The two articles are similar because they both explain ways to communicate efficiently and make the other person more interested in what you are saying. I was surprised to read that only words they say are only 8% of how we interpret what they are saying and 55% is body language and facial expressions.

Well, I think that the article gave sufficient facts about body language and facial expressions. It generally had the same message that the "Essentials of Business and Communication" book gave us about the messages your body language can send. The "Forbes" magazine stated that 55% of the messages we interpret is through body language and facial expressions. I agree with that because it's something that I often pay attention to while having a conversation.

Facial expressions and body language are the most important thing when trying to communicate effectively. I personally thought that the words you say would matter more in a professional business area. This is good to know for the future in business negotiating.

I agree with the individual's opinions because I knew that a lot of how I communicate with people is body language and facial expressions. Also, it was saying about how you should tell people what your going to say and how long it will take before you say it. That seems helpful and less intimidating than not knowing when it is that they are going to finish talking. Also, I thought at first that this was incorrect about facial expressions and body language being most of communication because of tone of voice. But, it went on to say that your facial expressions on the phone/ in real life affect the way you talk, so I changed my mind.

I agree, body language is one of the most important things when you are speaking to someone. I mainly focus on peoples body language when talking to them to see if there surprised or happy etc. about what I am saying. I think word and body language are both important in business and both effect whether you are successful or not.

This article was very interesting when it came with body language. From personal experiences, the time I was engaged with people more is when the speaker had great body language that then was expressed through their tone. Our words only account for 8% of what we say. This is good information to know through out all of our lives.

I agree with the section on how individuals interpret what is being said because in order to be successful in business, communication is greatly impacted. Business professionals interprets someone's message by their facial expression and body language. If they can master controlling their body language and facial expression, they should have no problem in being successful in business.

I was unaware of the fact that your body language has the largest impact on the receiver. I thought the words you are saying would make the most difference. When speaking on the phone, you cannot read the body language of the person speaking, so tone makes the biggest impact, not the words you are saying.

At first when I started reading the article, I thought it was going to be very boring but then it actually turned out to be very interesting. What I learned in the article is that body language is very important to how you speak, especially in meetings. After reading that article, I realized that when I talk to someone, I should use more body language that way the person's response will be different and better.
